United States of America

Libraries are a sacred and honored aspect of the United States of America.  It is great for private corporations to help out failing libraries.

For the ones that bitch in this article, SHAME ON THEM!!

“A lot of libraries are atrocious,” Mr. Pezzanite said. “Their policies are all about job security. That’s why the profession is nervous about us. You can go to a library for 35 years and never have to do anything and then have your retirement.

It is a disgrace to me that the ones that fuss about change are the ones that are afraid to work harder in their lives.  Nothing is free in life.  Because they are public libraries does not mean these libraries get free rent, maintenance, and all the rest.  I for one am discussed to see libraries looking like a reject from a trash dump.  It is not just the look but how the employees go about their business.  Far too many materials are missing due to how these libraries are managed.

I realize there are a lot of things online, but nothing can replace books.  Maybe one day the medium of how books are written might just be online in one form or the other.  Electronic books are growing.  The biggest thing is the control of piracy.  That can dealt with if we all work together, it is  not by taking way rights from law abiding citizens, but working together to develop a means of creating the means to protect privacy and property of everyone.  The Preamble does state in the Constitution of the United States of America, “WE THE POEPLE.”

We are a great country of the world due to our ability to share and grow in knowledge.  If we treat libraries as second or third class institutions, then we should fall as a nation.  There is nothing more important in life than learning!
